For purposes of interpretation it may be desirable to know the relative size and number of insect parts in contaminated flour, meal, or bakery goods. This is not the totality of the extraordinary versatility of spider silks. Other species of spider produce dry fibres with a twentieth of the diameter of the common garden spider. To achieve this they fluff up the silk by passing it through fine combs on their back legs.
