Injection molding Interaction parameter

In addition to the inherent properties of the nanofiller and its size/shape, the properties of nanocomposites depend to a significant extent on the filler surface chemistry and the interaction of the composite components at the phase boundaries these parameters control the filler dispersion in the polar or nonpolar matrix and the adhesion between the components. The thermal stability of the filler itself, and that of the interface, are important considerations if the composites are to be melt-compounded and shaped at elevated temperatures, as, for example, by extrusion or injection molding. [Pg.143]

The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of processing parameters and their two-way interactions on the strength of ABS injection-molded part with or without weldline, and get the optimum process conditions to maximize the strength of the part. [Pg.537]

The spiral flow technique has been used as an appropriate tool by both manufacturers and researchers to determine the flow properties and mold-ability of a resin based on the distance it will flow and the pressure exerted by the resin on the mold. Here, with the use of a polymer blend, the dynamic interactions between both phases could also be established. With morphological observations of the molded product, would help to assess and further understand the flow characteristics of the melt, which could be useful to predict the behavior of the material under various molding conditions. Previous studies on the effect of injection-molding parameters on the properties of molded parts have demonstrated that these are predominantiy caused by variations of the shear rate within the mold, between the melt at the wall and the core part [1-2]. [Pg.2049]

Different types of microprocessor-based modules control BM machines and melt parameters, ranging from single to multiple functions. The modules interact at high speeds, coordinating process variables such as heat, timing, parison or preform molding speed and pressure, melt wall thickness, and so on. (See Chapters 2 and 3 on controlling injection and extrusion machines.)... [Pg.202]
