Initiative owner

Although Oxford Energy is bankmpt, its two faciUties continue to operate, each under separate management. CMS, which initially took over both projects, continues to be involved as the majority owner of the Exeter Energy project (Sterling, Coimecticut). [Pg.13]

Such situations are governed by the work-made-for-hire doctrine of the Copyright Law. Under the Copyright Law, copyright ownership vests initially in the author of the work. In cases of works made for hire, the law specifies that the employer or other person for whom the work is prepared is deemed to be the author (9). Thus the apphance company would be deemed to be the author, and hence the initial copyright owner, of the copyrighted instmction manual. [Pg.264]

Marks registered only under prior trademark acts are subject to cancellation proceedings at any time at the initiative of someone who claims damage or potential damage by the registration of the mark. Certification marks can be similarly canceled if the owner fails to exercise control over their use or misuses them (8). [Pg.271]

In a Lockean world, mineral rights do not accompany surface rights in either original or transferred ownership. Minerals would not be owTicd until homesteaded by the acts of discovery and intent to possess. In the case of oil and gas, initial ownership would occur when the oil or gas entered the well bore and was legally claimed by the driller. The reservoir would then turn from a state of nature into owned property. The homesteader (discoverer) could be the property owner directly overhead, another land owner, or a lessee of either. [Pg.962]

Many industrial buildings, and industrial projects in the broader sense, are completed entirely to the owner s satisfaction in terms of the key criteria of time, cost and quality. It is also true that many are not. There can be various reasons for this some related to the nature of the construction industry in general, some to the performance of professional teams and others related to the manner in which the project was initially set up. The most common cause of problems with the finished product is the way in which the owner s requirements were specified, and this extends to include the selection of the project team. [Pg.45]

Fig. 7. Dependence of relative molar concentrations n-Jn of reaction components on reciprocal space velocity W/F (hr kg mole-1) in the consecutive hydrogenation of phenol. Temperature 150°C, catalyst Pt-SiCh (1% wt. Pt), initial molar ratio of reactants G = 9. The curves were calculated (1—phenol, 2—cyclohexanone, 3—cyclohexanol) the points are experimental values. From Ref. (61). Reproduced by permission of the copyright owner. Fig. 7. All trademarks are trademarks of their respective owners. Rather than put a trademark symbol after every occurrence of a trademarked name, we use names in an editorial fashion only, and to the benefit of the trademark owner, with no intention of infringement of the trademark. Where such designations appear in this book, they have been printed with initial caps. [Pg.1679]

The BIF owner/operator must perform a waste analysis27 to identify the type and quantity of hazardous constituents that may be reasonably expected to be found in the waste. The facility must provide an explanation for any constituents not included in the analysis. In addition to the initial analysis, the owner/operator must conduct periodic sampling and analysis to ensure that the hazardous waste is within the limits of the facility s permit. [Pg.973]

Closely related to the annuity is the perpetuity. This is an amount of money set aside at time zero that will provide something indefinitely. Care for a cemetery lot is frequently purchased as a perpetuity. The owners of the cemetery agree for a given initial fee to cut the grass, rake the leaves, trim the trees, and do whatever else is necessary to preserve the lot s appearance forever. [Pg.306]

Once this minimum pharmaceutical care is covered, pharmacists would be free to set up any other initiative. The erosion of earning power that this might spell for existing pharmacies could be offset by means of minimum market protection periods and by prohibiting chains of pharmacies without a single owner per pharmacy. [Pg.205]

Key elements of reactive hazard identification are owner-initiated review, chemistry review, review of unit operations, review of scenarios, definition of required testing, records testing, and interpretation of results for owner. [Pg.383]
