They often cover terms such as the vision, the corporate purpose, the mission statement or goals. In the partnership, when one introduces the environmental aspects, the innovative CSR company aims to meet the needs of its customers by providing efficient, high-quality solutions that improve the productivity, end-product quality and eco-efificiency of its customers industrial processes. 

Nathan was involved in the insurance industry for more than 20 years. Does the mission statement of your industry reflect an overarching concern for production and quality Is safety considered a priority (instead of a value) that gets shifted when production quotas are emphasized Is safety viewed as a top-down condition of employment rather than an employee-driven process supported by management Are safety programs handed down to employees with directives to "implement per instructions" rather than "customize for your work area" ... 

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its predecessor, the National Bureau of Stan-dards(NBS), prides itself on having the ability to make measurements characterized by state-of-the-art precision and accuracy. In industrial settings, measurements usually must be made quickly and cheaply. While it is important to find ways to reduce the cost of measurement and to make measurements more quickly, NIST s national standards mission is such that quality generally takes precedence over speed. NIST scientists and engineers take sufficient time to ensure that a valid statement of uncertainty accompanies data we provide. 

This is typified by the fact that the University of Illinois was founded under the name of The Illinois Industrial University. It has risen to the top ranks of outstanding intellectual institutions, but it started with a practical flavor. So the whole concept of practical results coming out of the academic institution is not out of place. In fact, the opening statement in the University of Illinois catalog refers to its "...threefold mission of teaching, research, and public service."...
