INDEX strength

Ethylene Polymers. Depending on the polymerization conditions, three major types of polyethylene are manufactured low-density polyethylene (LDPE) by free-radical polymerization, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) by copolymerization of ethylene with terminal olefins, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) by coordination polymerization. The processes yield polymers with different characteristics (molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, melt index, strength, crystallinity, density, processability). 

Plot the percent of index strength vertically versus the time to failure horizontally. The vertical intercept where the curve becomes asymptotic horizontally can be taken as the creep endurance limit.

Searching of one or more on-line databases is a technique increasingly used ia novelty studies. The use of such databases enables the searcher to combine indexing parameters, including national and international classifications natural language words ia the full text of patents, ia their claims, or ia abstracts suppHed by iaventor and by professional documentation services and indexing systems of various sorts. Because the various patent databases have strengths and weaknesses that complement each other, the use of multiple databases is thus pmdent, and is faciUtated by multifile and cross-file techniques provided by the various on-line hosts. 

DMPPO—polystyrene blends, because of the inherent flame resistance of the DMPPO component (oxygen index ca 29.5), can be made flame retardant without the use of halogenated additives that tend to lower impact strength and melt stabiUty in other polymers. Approximately one-half of total Noryl sales volume is in flame-retarded grades, ie, VO or VI in a 1.6-mm section (UL-94).
