The W2 and v values for LB films prepared from various aliphatic acid cadmium salts having different alkyl-chain lengths (C)6 - C22) were also obtained and the results are shown in Figure 6. LB films of various lipids were transferred on a QCM as a substrate under various conditions. Our approach has been to study a very simple clay-water system in which the majority of the water present is adsorbed on the clay surfaces.
