Incomplete contract

The incomplete contraction at low heads produces a higher value of Cd, but for even lower heads the frictional effects reduce the coefficient continuously. At very low heads, when the nappe clings to the weir plate, the phenomenon can no longer be classed as weir flow. [Pg.459]

In eq.(28), we have first rewritten qi s in terms of Q,-, and then reordered the product QiQjQkQi as a sum of normal products, using as the vacuum. The traditional Wick s theorem applied to the products of Q, s will lead to pair contractions in the traditional sense between groups of creation-annihilation operators in one Q, with one or more Qy s. If these contractions completely exhaust all the operators present in the composites Q,-, Qj- etc. involved in the contraction, we denote them by bars and centred or filled circles. Joining by some operators will lead to terms with carets and open circles. Thus, the second and the third term in the braces involve incomplete contractions. The second term has connections between operators of Q and Qj and between Qk and Qi. The third term involves connections between Q,- and Q and between Qj and Q(. The fourth term involves complete connections between all the operators of Qi and Qj. The fifth term involves contraction of all the operators of Q,- with those of Qj and of some between Qk and Q . The sixth term involves complete contractions between operators of Q,- and Qj and of Qk and Qi. The seventh term QiQjQkQi indicates that all the operators of Qii Qji Qk and Qi are contracted among themselves which cannot be factored out to pairs such as QiQj QkQi etc. [Pg.180]

Most standard forms of contract contain specific procedures for determination, and these should be rigidly adhered to. For example, the contract document may lay down that the contractor be given 14 days notice in writing to rectify his progress before determination is carried out. Any letters should be sent by recorded delivery or served by hand. While liquidated or non-liquidated damages can be claimed with respect to late or incomplete work, expense claims usually follow the events shown below, which are also mentioned in Section 8.24 ... [Pg.95]

The contraction of solids on heating seems anomalous because it offends the intuitive concept that atoms will need more room to move as the vibrational amplitudes of the atoms increase. However, this argument is incomplete. Figure 11.9 plots schematically the variation of A with V at two temperatures, for both positive and negative thermal expansion. The volumes marked explicitly on the E-axis give the minima of each A vs. V isotherm. These are the equilibrium volumes at temperatures T and T2 respectively (J2 > 7j) and zero pressure. [Pg.350]

The only calculation we found for CdH is the work of Balasubramanian [68], using Cl with relativistic effective core potentials. The coupled-cluster results are presened in Table 6. Calculated values for R , cOg and Dg agree very well with experiment. Relativity contracts the bond by 0.04 and reduces the binding energy by 0.16 eV. The one- and two-component DK method reproduce the relativistic effects closely. Similar trends are observed for the excited states (Tables 7-9). Comparison with experiment is difficult for these states, since many of the experimental values are based on incomplete or uncertain data [65]. Calculated results for the CdH anion are shown in Table 10. The... [Pg.171]

Substance P is the most important member of the tachykinin family. It exerts a variety of incompletely understood central actions that implicate the peptide in behavior, anxiety, depression, nausea, and emesis. It is a potent arteriolar vasodilator, producing marked hypotension in humans and several animal species. The vasodilation is mediated by release of nitric oxide from the endothelium. Conversely, substance P causes contraction of venous, intestinal, and bronchial smooth muscle. It also stimulates secretion by the salivary glands and causes diuresis and natriuresis by the kidneys. [Pg.388]
