Our calculation is based on the Burchartl.01-Dreiding2.21 force field that combines the Burchart force field [8], which is used to treat the frameworks of zeolites, and Dreiding II [Pg.295]

The experimental structures of the aluminophosphates are built up according to their crystal data using Cerius package. For the substituted hypothetical structures, we change the Co complexes to their enantiomorph (A-+A or A— A) with the positions of the Co atoms unchanged. [Pg.296]

With respect to metal ions that sulfonate groups coordinate well to, as a soft base, the best partners are metal ions with polarizable coordination spheres. We have found very good success with Ag" " and heavier alkaline earth ions, in particular, Ba. The ensuing sections discuss metal sulfonates initially as more classical hybrid inorganic-organic solids with layered structures and then proceed to pillared layered motifs and finally nonlayered structures. Scheme 1 shows the ligands discussed in this chapter. [Pg.128]

Polynuclear clusters fill the gap between mononuclear and extended solid transition metal vibronic systems. The applications of the theory of vibronic interaction allow to describe physical and chemical properties of these systems, sometimes directly linked to their application. The Jahn-Teller distortion found for the rhenium clusters defines the architecture of hybrid inorganic-organic materials and, as a result, their electric and magnetic properties. The application of the vibronic theory to the decatungstate cluster elucidates the details of its reactivity in the photocatalytic reaction. The modern DFT methods give a key to the calculations of key parameters of the vibronic theory. In future, we will assist at the combination of these methods with phenomenological approaches leading to the description of vibronic effects in physical and chemical properties of polynuclear clusters from first principles. [Pg.399]

Furthermore, exploitation of fundamental coordination chemistry for solid state synthesis affords a variety of metal ions with preferred coordination geometries and numerous ligand architectures for the construction of metal-organic composite materials. Such hybrid inorganic-organic materials exhibit useful physical properties with applications to optics," magnetism," transport," thermochromism," and conductance. ... [Pg.41]
