Home environment flooring

The Department of the Environment (1988) has published a guide to the reduction of radon levels in homes. Ground floors can be sealed with plastic sheets, or, as a more drastic measure, a sub-floor suction system, exhausting the upwards flow of radon to atmosphere, can be installed. 

The excellent detection ability for flames makes UV sensing a good method for remote fire alarm-monitoring. UV radiation after the outbreak of a fire reaches a sensor much faster than heat or smoke. Also, the distance between sensor and fire is less critical. Requirements for the sensor are high sensitivity and excellent selectivity. Consequently, it is necessary to look beyond factors such as cost and efficiency in order to understand the value that Russians place on natural food products. The chemistry of seawater is only one aspect of a marine environment. Substrates also play important roles because they serve as homes to many organisms. The substrate of a marine environment refers to the material that makes up the bottom or floor of the area, and it can be one of three types loose and sandy, muddy and compact, or hard and rocky.

Collection of floor dust both prior to and after lawn-apphed 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), indicated that turf residues are transported indoors [20]. Carpet dust levels of 2,4-D and dicamba and carpet surface dislodgeable residue levels were highly correlated with turf dislodgeable residue levels [21].
