High temperature materials environmental impacts

Material behavior have many classifications. Examples are (1) creep, and relaxation behavior with a primary load environment of high or moderate temperatures (2) fatigue, viscoelastic, and elastic range vibration or impact (3) fluidlike flow, as a solid to a gas, which is a very high velocity or hypervelocity impact and (4) crack propagation and environmental embrittlement, as well as ductile and brittle fractures. [Pg.45]

Synthetic rubber (ethylene-vinylacetate rubber, EVM ethylene-propylene-diene rubber, EPDM) - new formulas of these materials dehver coatings that are not affected by environmental impact (UV, ozone, humidity, chemicals) and have excellent light transmission (up to 80%). A silica filler provides high tensile strength, high flexibility and very good foldabil-ity, even at low temperatures. [Pg.38]

Saytex CP-2000 is widely used for printed wiring boards laminates made from FR4 epoxies. It is reacted into the epoxy, so that there is no potential for leaching out of the resin. The FR meets the German Dioxin Rule. It is environmentally acceptable, thermally stable at high temperatures and does not disrupt resin properties when soldered. It can be used as an additive in ABS and also as a raw material in brominated epoxy oligomers in ABS and high impact polystyrene (HIPS). [Pg.30]
