Herbal toothpastes are made from natural ingredients. Many consumers have switched to avoid artificial flavors and colors found in regular toothpastes. Most toothpaste manufacturers now produce herbal toothpastes.

A persistent mmor regarding cancer cures pertains to the previously mentioned Compoimd-X — supposedly a mysterious, secretive, and potent formulation originating with the Plains Indians, or maybe southwestern Indians, or even Canadian Indians. It is supposed to cure both external and internal cancers, but it seems no one wants to talk about it, what is in it, or how it works. Presumably it is a herbal mixture of unknown makeup, although Chaparral and bloodroot may be in it. A rumor is that a pharmaceutical company was once interested, and along these fines a certain toothpaste contains bloodroot (Sanguarine canadensis) as an anticavity agent. 

Peppermint oil is obtained from flowering tops and leaves of Menta x piperita L. (herbaceous perennial plant, Lamiaceae), yield of 0.3-0.7%. The oil is a colorless, pale yellow or pale greenish-yellow liquid. It has a characteristic mint odor and taste followed by the sensation of cold. It is used to give a peppermint flavor to a wide range of applications, at first as flavor additives in bubble gum and toothpaste. It is also used in mint and herbal blends and in liquor and sweets flavors.
