Heights working above ground

Working above ground level creates added dangers and slows down the work rate of the electrician. New Work at Height Regulations came into force on 6 April 2005. Every precaution should be taken to ensure that the working platform is appropriate for the purpose and in good condition. [Pg.28]

The term ladder is generally taken to include stepladders and trestles. The use of ladders for working above ground level is only acceptable for access and work of short duration (Work at Height Regulations 2005). [Pg.28]

B) The live parts are installed at a height, above ground and any other working surface, that provides protection at the voitage on the live parts corresponding to the protection provided by a 2.4-meter (8-foot) height at 50 voits. [Pg.773]

The particulate counter should be placed at the height of at least 1 m above the ground level, i.e., working level. [Pg.1038]

Fix convex mirrors above a deep tank to observe the amount cf solid inside from the ground level if it is not possible to go up and take measurement by a dipstick, if the ultrasound detector is not working properly, or the deep tank is at a height. [Pg.205]

It has been established that corrosive conditions vary considerably with distance from a corrosive source, as well as height above the ground. Therefore, there can be a need for such evaluations to be made for determining such differences. One relatively easy way to accomplish this has been developed by the Alcan Research Laboratories from previous work done by ASTM Committee B-3 [5-7]. This technique is the basis for the wire-on-bolt practice... [Pg.347]
