The author wishes to acknowledge valuable discussions and supply of materials studied by members of the Process Division of Gulf Research Development Company (Section II,C,3a), Dr. H. P. Leftin (Section II,C,3,6), and Dr. D. S. Maciver (Section III,C,3). Dr. Frank Morgan and Dr. C. P. Poole, Jr., read the manuscript and made helpful suggestions. [Pg.111]

O Reilly, D. E., Research File No. HL-01, Gulf Research Development Co. [Pg.114]

Thanks are due to W. Keith Hall, Gulf Research Development Co., for helpful discussions. [Pg.559]

The authors would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Sun W. Chun of Gulf Research Development Company for his interest and timely suggestions. [Pg.69]

LEON PETRAKIS, Senior Research Associate, Gulf Research Development Company Would you amplify on these technical developments that may impact on the economics of the SRC-I ... [Pg.117]

O. K. Doolen, Instrument Development Division, Gulf Research Development Co., largely devised the multiple sample apparatus. P. Ross and W. Frazier obtained the experimental data discussed. [Pg.142]

The third factor was the attendance of nine well-known carbon scientists from Europe and Japan in the 1984 symposium. Support for their attendance was obtained by a grant from The Petroleum Research Fund supplemented by contributions from the following industrial sponsors Aluminum Company of America, Ashland Petroleum Company, Arco Petroleum Products Company, Exxon Research Development Laboratories, GA Technologies Inc., Gulf Canada, Ltd., Gulf Research Development Company, Koppers Company, Inc., Mobil Oil Corporation, The Standard Oil Company (Ohio), and UOP, Inc. [Pg.6]

Gulfining [Gulf refining] A hydrodesulfurization process adapted for heavy gas oils. Developed by Gulf Research Development Company in the early 1950s. [Pg.154]

W. K. Hall (Gulf Research Development Co., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15230) Could not the evidence cited for pore mouth reaction really result from the formation of polymer layer which acts as a proton donor Such a situation exists with silica-alumina catalyst. [Pg.283]

This work was sponsored by the Gulf Research Development Co. as part of the research program of the Fellowship on Petroleum. One of us (EAL) is indebted to the Organization of American States for the award of a Fellowship. [Pg.352]

The patent phase of the work is handled somewhat differently but in an equally efficient manner. The head of the Patent Section of Gulf Research Development Co. examines each copy of the Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office for patents of interest. He then obtains copies of the patents, roughly classifies them, and sends them to qualified persons at the research laboratories for abstracting. Since each man receives only patents which directly pertain to his specialty, the abstracting involves a minimum of mental effort—hence time. The patents, accompanied by copies of the abstracts, are then sent to Mellon Institute for classification and filing in a manner analogous to the way in which the literature is handled. [Pg.257]

The over-all scheme was devised purely from the standpoint of the needs of Gulf Research Development Co. Certain operations, such as the preparation of bulletins concurrently with making selections for the files, have been discussed only to make the picture complete and to illustrate how time may be conserved by combining collection of material for the files with other existing operations. The salient feature of the scheme is the continuous collection, classification, and filing of literature and patents. This operation has been found most helpful in the preparation of surveys and is passed on to others for whatever use they may care to make of it. [Pg.262]
