Guar gum derivatives

Chemical modification of guar gum has drawn much attention in recent years. The goal of the chemical modification is to improve both physical and chemical properties of the pol5mier and thereby widening its potential application in various fields. In this context. 

A matrix based on guar gum-flfro/t-poly(acrylamide) was developed by microwave-initiated free radical grafting method for controlled release of 5-amino salicylic acid (Fig. 8.2) [21]. The applicability of this matrix for sustained drug release has been investigated by USP drug dissolution method, under different pH environments.

Thakur et al. synthesized various types of guar gum/acryloyl hydrogels by reacting guar gum with acrylic acid, methacrylic acid.
