Growth Hormone Anti-insulinic effect

In conclusion, the major effect of growth hormone on carbohydrate metabolism appears to be anti-insu-linic (glycogen mobilization from liver, hyperglycemia, glycogen mobilization in muscle in vitro). Yet, in vivo, growth hormone administration elicits at least a transient insulinlike effect, possibly resulting from a feedback insulin release caused by hyperglycemia. [Pg.427]
