Ground instance

Select an induction parameter such that, given a ground instance of it, the specified relation holds for at most one ground instance of the other parameters. 

Definition 5-2 Let min and max be two scalars. Let LF(r) be the logic program derived from a logic algorithm LA(r), Let r(t) be an atom where the induction parameter and the auxiliary parameter(s) are ground, and all other parameters are variables. We say that LA r) is min - max deterministic iff there are between min and max ground instances of r(t) for which there exists an SLDNF refutation using LP(r). 

It appears that pesticides with solubiHties greater than 10 mg/L are mainly transported in the aqueous phase (48) as a result of the interaction of solution/sediment ratio in the mnoff and the pesticide sorption coefficient. For instance, on a silt loam soil with a steep slope (>12%), >80% of atra2ine transport occurs in the aqueous phase (49). In contrast, it has been found that total metolachlor losses in mnoff from plots with medium ground slopes (2—9%) were <1% of appHed chemical (50). Of the metolachlor in the mnoff, sediment carried 20 to 46% of the total transported pesticide over the monitoring period. 

The pan bottom rotates and has a central solid crushing ring as well as an outer ring of screen plates with openings from 0.16 to 1.3 cm (Mfi to V2. in). In some instances a solid pan bottom is used in place of a perforated screen bottom, and the ground material is discharged through a slot in the rim. 

Soil does not provide as solid a base as rock. The strength of a foundation built on soil and its ability to withstand an earthquake will therefore depend upon the quality and depth of soils which may be formed of a number of soil layers of different stratifications and depths. Sandy soil or soil with sedimentary deposits, for instance, will have less strength and will provide a weaker base, as such soils may settle more during a ground movement. 

For instance, when lightning of, say, a nominal discharge current of 10 kA strikes a 400 kV (r.m.s.) overhead line, having a surge impedance of 350 Q, then two parallel waves will be produced each of amplitude 10 x 350/2 or 1750 kV which may be more than the impulse withstand level of the system and cause a flashover between the conductors and the ground, besides damaging the line insulators and the terminal equipment (Table 13.2). It is therefore imperative that the system is protected against such eventualities. 

This is the most common scheme in normal use for any power system with more than one feeder, connected to a common bus, such as for distribution and sub-distribution power networks, having a number of load points, controlled through a main incoming feeder. In a switchgear assembly, for instance, common protection may be provided at the incoming for a ground fault or combined 0/C and G/F protections as discussed above. In such cases, a restricted G/F protection may not be appropriate or required, as the protection now needed is sy.stem protection, rather than individual equipment proteelion. The incomer must operate whenever a fault occurs at any point on the system. Moreover, for an LT system, where it may not be desirable or possible to provide individual protection to each feeder, such a scheme is adopted extensively. 

The harmonic content may be measured through harmonic analysers and expressed as a percentage of the fundamental component. The cuiTent and voltage ratings of the reactors will depend upon their application. A series reactor connected permanently in the circuit, for instance, will be rated continuously and for full system voltage, whereas a reactor used in the ground circuit may be short-time rated and rated for the likely maximum ground fault current. 

Risaliti et al. (22), have shown that in the addition of the electrophilic olefins to the enamines of cyclohexanone, the formation of the less substituted enamine is favored when a bulky group is present at the electrophilic carbon atom. For instance, the reaction of (8-nitrostyrene with the morpholine enamine of cyclohexanone gave only the trisubstituted isomer (30) with the substituent in the axial orientation (23). The product on hydrolysis led to the ketone (31) to which erythro configuration was assigned on the grounds illustrated in Scheme 3 (24). 

In many instances, adequate existing civil/stmctural or services installation information may not be available. Guessing the likely bearing capacity of floor slabs, foundations, structural steel or sub-slab ground, etc. can prove disastrous. Equally, assuming likely operational conditions for new installations can lead to embarrassing (and quite possibly dangerous) under-performance. The cheapest or quickest installation is not always the best or... 

The features of instances of such potential reversals have been described and include tin coatings on steel in various foodstuffs, particularly acid fruits , cadmium coatings on steel in hard waters , and zinc and aluminium for cathodic protection of steel in natural ground-waters . 

Care should be taken to avoid short circuits for instance, an insulated specimen, being common with the ground point of some potentiostats, can become electrically reconnected to the autoclave if the latter is not separated from ground by using an isolation transformer.
