Green accounts

As pointed out before, in the USA and UK green chemistry has become synonymous with chemical industrial processes that avoid (toxic) by-products as much as possible the greening of industry. The following sections analyze in more detail the principles and some examples of this green chemistry. In many countries, concepts such as green accounts, green procurement and green taxes are accepted. 

Denmark was the first country to adopt legislation on public environmental reporting. The Danish Protection Act will require certain categories of companies, particularly those with significant environmental impacts, to draw up and submit so-called green accounts annually. In general, the reporting requirements in Denmark are strict compared to those of most other European countries. For example, compulsory fines can be imposed if a company does not submit the green accounts. Danish law guarantees to the public annual accessible information on the environmental impact of enterprises. 

In Fig. 3a,b are shown respectively the modulus of the measured magnetic induction and the computed one. In Fig. 3c,d we compare the modulus and the Lissajous curves on a line j/ = 0. The results show a good agreement between simulated data and experimental data for the modulus. We can see a difference between the two curves in Fig. 3d this one can issue from the Born approximation. These results would be improved if we take into account the angle of inclination of the sensor. This work, which is one of our future developpements, makes necessary to calculate the radial component of the magnetic field due to the presence of flaw. This implies the calculation of a new Green s function. 

This subject is dealt with ab initio in the author s book entitled Elementary Practical Organic Chemiairy. Parti. SmaU Scale Preparations. (Longmans, Green and Co. Ltd., 1957.) The treatment is comprehensive and includes a detailed account of small scale apparatus of novel design.

Phthalocyanine pigments account for approximately 23% of the total worldwide organic pigment consumption of 225,000 tons. Approximately 20,000 t are used in printing inks, 10,000 t in paints, 9,000 t in plastics, 3,000 t in textiles, 7,000 t in dyes, and 2,000 t in specialty uses. Table 1 shows the worldwide distribution of cmde phthalocyanine capacity. The production history of phthalocyanine in the United States from 1980 to 1990 is given in Table 2 (161). The 1990 prices of phthalocyanine blue and green pigments were ca 11—22/kg and 21—27/kg, respectively.

Since under Green s conditions, a 10-7 cm.3 molecule-1 sec.-1 (unpublished experiments at AeroChem), n+ ne- 1011 cm.-3, /iH2o 3 X 1017 cm.-3, and n0h- 109 cm.-3, then kz 3 X 10-16 cm.3 molecule-1 sec.-1 This is some three orders of magnitude greater than the maximum value of kz calculated on the basis of Buchel nikova s data. Therefore, dissociative attachment of electrons to water is too slow to account for the observed concentrations of negative ions.
