Government shut-down

A commercial-scale SNG plant, the Great Plains Plant in North Dakota, was actually built and operated for several years using a scheme based on coal. However, upon termination of the government subsidy, the plant s owner, ANR Inc., found it uneconomical to continue plant operation and shut down the plant in the late 1980s.

The inhibitions on nuclear power development stem in large measure from environmental concerns, particularly concerns relating to reactor accidents and nuclear wastes. 

The goal of this operation was to get the location of those needing this perverse fix and do, what Russbacher called, "a field resolution" on them. Generic concern 2 It is naive to assume that PMB can walk away from such a contract with Novartis should the research agenda be somehow bent away from the research of the university and toward more applied activities. One cannot easily shut down a relationship of this nature, and thus successful governance is critical.

And believe me, these people did not choose to limit their profits and shut down sales to individuals just because the DEA asks them to. They do it because they are in fear of the DEA.
