Glass surface, immobilization

Fig. 17 (a) Elastin-based stimulus-responsive gold nanoparticles. Reproduced from [131] by permission of The Royal Society of Chemistry (b) Functionalization of a glass surface with ELP. In the first step, the glass surface is aminosilylated with N-2-(aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane, then modified with glutaraldehyde. Subsequently, the stimulus-responsive biopolymer is covalently immobilized using reductive amination. Reproduced from [132] by permission of The Royal Society of Chemistry... [Pg.93]

In another investigation, ELP[V5L2G3-90] with three lysines in the N-terminal region was immobihzed on a glass surface in a microreactor to enable temperature-controlled positioning of ELP fusion proteins. For this purpose, the glass surface was first functionalized with A -2-(aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, followed by glutaraldehyde treatment and reductive amination to immobilize the biopolymer on the surface (Fig. 17b) [132]. [Pg.94]

Immobilization on glass surfaces can be carried out by either routes [5] or [6] in Scheme 2 both yielding the immobilized complex (1), reaction [5] being the procedure most commonly used. [Pg.394]

An array or a matrix of nucleic acid probes immobilized at discrete locations on a silicon or glass surface provides a convenient means to simultaneously probe a sample for the presence of many different target sequences. Microarray biochip scanning devices, mostly based on fluorescent labels, are now currently available, and could also be used with CL labels to take advantage of the higher sensitivity of this detection principle. [Pg.492]

A sensor array where different haptens are immobilized at well-defined areas on a plain glass surface has been developed [66], Using an automated flow injection system it was possible to incubate all areas on the chip with analytes, specific antibodies, secondary HRP-labeled antibodies, and CL substrate. Measurement of the light output via imaging performed with a CCD device allowed determination of the analytes present in the sample on the basis of the spatial localization of the CL signal. [Pg.493]
