Glass pipe

Glass pipe can be furnished with an epoxy-resin coating reinforced with woven glass fiber to protect it from abuse. Equipped with special ball couphngs, this may be used for 1-MPa (150-lbf/in ) pressure.

Bayonet Heaters A bayonet-tube element consists of an outer and an inner tube. These elements are inserted into tanks and process vessels for heating and cooling purposes. Often the outer tube is of expensive alloy or nonmetalhc (e.g., glass, impeivdous graphite), while the inner tube is of carbon steel. In glass construction, elements with 50.8- or 76.2-mm (2- or 3-in) glass pipe [with lengths to 2.7 m (9 ft)] are in contact with the external fluid, with an inner tube of metal. 

In our glass pipe demonstrator, cold water is used to simulate condensate and air pressure is applied to simulate the flash steam in the top portion of the pipe (Fig. 2). 

In the turbulent flow range, friction loss in glass pipe is 70 to 85 percent of clean steel.

Sink traps of resistant plastic are now well accepted. They are easy to install and also easy to clean. Drains of glass pipe are sometimes seen in special installations. Some laboratories install regular thin-walled sink traps designed for kitchen use. The author s experience with them, even in the home, has been poor. 

Partition Chromatographic Column. The column was constructed of standard-wall borosilicate glass pipe by the Scientific Glass Apparatus Company. It is 83 cm. 

Six successive units are visible on the Fig. 1.19 (left) and they are set to obtain the heating of reactants in a vertical glass pipe. Each applicator is constituted by a parallelepiped metallic box (200 x 200 x 300 mm3). The reactor is a dielectric pipe with diameter between 70 and 100 mm. I have found one salvinorin "hardhead." Under my supervision, the man carefully and properly smoked a full milligram of salvinorin, vaporized in a glass pipe. After a few minutes he shrugged his shoulders, got up, and, trying to be polite, remarked that "maybe there were some visuals."...

The ice generator consists of two vertically assembled 5-foot sections of 6-inch borosilicate glass pipe. The refrigerant and brine mixture jets toward the wall near the top of the column.
