Germanes organo

According to the experienced German organo-electrochemist, Fritz Beck, the cost of the electricity in electrochemical synthesis is seldom more than 10% of the whole. 

The constraints of the tetradentate hemiporphyrazine ligand impose a six-coordinated frans-R2GeN4 octahedral geometry (Fig. 9) on bis(3,3-dimethyl-l-butyneyl)hemiporphyrazinogermanium, in which both covalent (1.956 A) and coordinate (2.172 A) Ge—N bonds are incorporated (92). The heterocycle is nearly planar, and this structure represents the only unequivocal example of a six-coordinated organo-germane whose structure is known thus far.

Trialkylgermanes add to carbon-carbon triple bonds in the presence of transition metal catalyst [41]. A review on fhe addition-i-reaction of Ge-H functional organo-germane compounds R GeH4 to unsaturated compounds (alkenes, alkynes, ketones, aldehydes) has been published [42]. 

For measuring at low concentrations, the derivatisation of the extracted organotin compound with sodium tetraethylborate is an established procedure to make a more sensitive gas chromatographic analysis possible. Derivatisation can be combined with the extraction as prescribed in the German method but can also be carried out after the extraction. Selective detection is possible using GC-MS. For organo-metallic compounds atomic emission or atomic absorption detection is not only very sensitive, but very selective. The steps necessary for the chromatographic separation and detection are described in ISO/CD 17353 (2001). Application of this well-described method for soil samples does not mean that the difficulties with the extraction have been overcome. 

Another suggestion germane to this article is that the tents the troops were using were sprayed with organo-phosphorus insecticides and were then used while still wet with insecticide on this thesis. Gulf War syndrome is due to organo-phosphorus insecticide poisoning (see above). 

While carrying out early experiments with D.F.P. and related compounds on small animals, we frequently noticed that extremely small quantities of these materials caused the death of flies in the room. It was this observation that led us during the war to claim the use of certain phosphorus compounds as insecticides. Schrader describes phosphorus-containing compounds made by the I.G. Farbenindustrie in Germany. Many similar compounds were also made (independently) by British and German research workers. It turned out, however, that systemic insecticides based on organo-phosphorus compounds were first commercially produced in England. ... 

Various germatranes have been prepared. Substituted benzyloxymethyl-germanes rearrange thermally to the Ge-O compound more slowly than Si, and racemic organo-germanium and -tin compounds have been resolved by inclusion chromatography on microcrystalline cellulose triacetate. ...
