The use of reinforcing geotextiles can increase the module of a soft soil and satisfy load-hearing requirements in the construction of a road or road-building project (bridge, overpass, etc.). This application is also used in the field of environmental engineering to increase the frictional force of a smooth geomembrane. 

Plant factories currently operate in many countries, cultivating lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, strawberries, and so on. The plant factory has also enabled the cultivation of some functional vegetables such as lettuces with low potassium, which makes the use of an environmental control system a feature of the factory. Actions for large-scale production and entry into the market for such products are being implemented. New uses for geotextiles in plant factories or the development of new geotextiles for this application will be found in the future for the geotextile industry.
