General sale list items

Chemical treatments include wart paints, of which there are many available as over-the-counter preparations (that is, they are general sales list items). As such, they can be accessed and supplied by qualified, registered podiatrists (see Chapter 14). 

Preparations classified as Prescription Only Medicine are not allowed to be advertised to the general public but their advertising is permitted in professional journals. The advertisement and sales promotion of pharmacy items and registered genercil sales list items require a permit from the Licensing Authority. 

The Medicines Act divides all medicinal products into three categories general sale list (GSL) items pharmacy medicines (P) and prescription-only medicines (POM). The Act sets out legal requirements associated with each category of medicine and the administration of medicines to patients, including the use of patient specific directions (PSDs) and patient group directions (PGDs). 

Many companies list general and administrative costs as part of overhead. Other companies list these elements separately. Usually G A are added to the estimate in the form of a percentage factor developed in the organization.
