Gel permeation chromatography-mass spectrometry

The molecular weights and molecular weight distributions (MWD) of phenolic oligomers have been evaluated using gel permeation chromatography (GPC),23,24 NMR spectroscopy,25 vapor pressure osmometry (VPO),26 intrinsic viscosity,27 and more recently matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS).28... [Pg.385]

This study reports two gel permeation techniques used to evaluate water at various stages of (potable water) treatment. The water samples were taken from a surface-water pilot treatment plant that employed several levels of ozone treatment. Selected fractions of the permeate were subsequently analyzed by pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). [Pg.375]

Ru(II) based terpyridine polymers were prepared by Houston et al. in 2003.21 The polymers were prepared by reacting /h.v-terpyridine monomers with Ru(DMSO)4Cl2 in hot ethanol (Fig. 3). To improve the solubility of the coordination polymers, pinene moieties are attached to the monomers. The degree of polymerization of the polymers was studied by elemental analyses, gel permeation chromatography, vapor phase osmometry, STM and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. However, no precise result was obtained, and the size of the polymers was estimated to be between 40 and 60 repeating units. [Pg.367]
