Garden furniture

The fluidised bed coating technique is used extensively for wirework items such as dish drainer racks, vegetable racks, office trays etc. The technique is also widely used for street furniture e.g. metal lampposts, signposts and balustrading, and for metal office furniture and domestic garden furniture. It also provides chemical corrosion resistance on valves, pipes, couplings etc. [Pg.748]

Three products are available from this process, VisorWood (20-40% WPG), Kebony 30 (10-50% WPG) and Kebony 100 (70-100% WPG). Uses of VisorWood include decking, marine applications, cladding, window joinery, poles, roofs, garden furniture and building materials. Both Kebony 30 and VisorWood have a light golden brown... [Pg.189]

The seats, tables, loungers and other pieces of garden furniture are currently the prerogative of polypropylenes. [Pg.146]

Recycling of unwanted polymers is the best solution, and six types of plastics in common use are frequently stamped with identifying codes assigned by the Society of the Plastics Industry (Table 31.2). After sorting by type, the items to be recycled are shredded into small chips, washed, dried, and melted for reuse. Soft-drink bottles, for instance, are made from recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate), trash bags are made from recycled low-density polyethylene, and garden furniture is made from recycled polypropylene and mixed plastics. [Pg.1278]

Plastech. [Cabot Plastics Ltd.] Polyi x>-pylene, polyethylene, or polystyrene resins, some glass or mineral filled for inj. molded parts for automotive industry, e.g., dashboards, door moldings, housings, under-the-hood implies, such as fans, fan housings, tech, parts, garden furniture. [Pg.283]

Learning chemistry requires learning a new language. Although we use the word plastic in everyday life to describe many objects, chemists require names for these materials that are more precise. For example, plastic milk jugs, garden furniture, and trash cans are made -w... [Pg.93]

Vinylidene Chloride-Vinyl Chloride VDC/VCM). VDCA CM copolymers are tough, flexible, and durable. As a film, they find significant use in the food packaging industry. They are also manufactured as a fiber used in car upholstery and garden furniture fabrics. [Pg.106]

A further important use is the coating of office and garden furniture, machine parts, and electrical components. Applications in the furniture sector include the coating of metal rails and fittings. [Pg.124]

Typical applications of thermally treated wood are e.g. garden furniture (Figure 9.4.13), deckings for balconies, terraces or swimming pool borders and for wet areas. [Pg.333]

Laminated solid wood panels are produced by joining wood lamellas using an adhesive. The panels are used for different types of products such as table tops, furniture, stairs, garden furniture, cutting boards, etc. (Fig. 7). [Pg.259]

Depending on the end use and the requirement for moisture and heat resistance, the laminated solid wood panels are produced with UF, MUF, PVAc or EPI adhesives. EPI adhesives are viable and price competitive alternatives to MUF adhesives for products where high heat and moisture resistance is important (e.g., table tops for use in kitchens, garden furniture, etc.) and are, to a certain degree, in use for this purpose. EPI adhesives are, in general, too expensive to compete with PVAc and UF adhesives for products where moisture resistance is of less importance. [Pg.259]

Fluidized bed sintering is not really a type of sintering. Here, heated metal parts which have previously been roughed by sandblasting or treated with primers are dipped into a fluidized bed of the plastic powder. The plastic powder, with particle sizes of 200 yua melts on the warm surfaces and flows into a thick film of 200-400 /xm. In this way, for example, garden furniture can be coated with polyamides. Poly(ethylene), poly(vinyl chlorides), and polyamides are often processed in this way, as is, less frequently, cellulose acetobutyrate. [Pg.707]
