Garden banks

Another example from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico (Garden Banks) is shown in Figs. 10-14. The color plot of Fig. 10 shows the interval velocity field together with the stacked traces. We note the general conformity of the structure with the velocity field. The color scale on the left side of Fig. 10 is expressed in ft/s. Using the velocity as input and a geothermal... 

Magnolia was discovered in 1999 with the Garden Banks (GB) 783-1 well that was drilled in 4668 ft of water to a total depth of 16 867 ft.

In the northern Gulf of Mexico, the recently drilled Garden Banks 754-1, which lies approximately 100 miles west of the Titan mini-basin, provides direct evidence that a similar source-prone environment existed during the late Jurassic. This well penetrated a thick extremely organic rich interval (Jarvie et al. 2002). Biomarker attributes of liquid hydrocarbons recovered in piston cores from the greater Garden Banks 754 area suggest their derivation from a earbonate to... 

Mud gas samples were obtained using gas bags or IsoTubes during drilling of all but the Garden Banks 783-1 well. Though (as is typical of mud gas samples) they were extremely contaminated by air, sufficient sample was usually obtained that the carbon isotopic composition of methane (and less often ethane and propane) could be measured without enrichment. The well profile shown in Figure 18 illustrates the downhole correspondence between IsoTube gas composition and isotopic character...

Despite the devaluation that occurs when natural foods are commodi-hed, the economic crises of the 1990s are still fresh in the minds of many citizens. People who are afraid of putting their money in the bank invest their resources in their gardens and in fresh foods that they turn into jams, pickles, and homemade alcohol. Russians can turn to these products when their monetary reserves are low, either by using them as free foods or by selling them to others. Consequently, even for Russians who are otherwise suspicious of capitalist markets, their hesitations are outweighed by the certainty of the moral and economic value of nature. Natural foods discourses and practices, then, become the manner in which Russians engage and reflect on proper economic activities in the postsocialist world (see also Zavisca 2003).
