Botanical gardens seed banks

To a degree, plants can be preserved artificially by seed banks in which seeds are stored for long periods of time under appropriate conditions for their preservation. Botanical gardens and arboreta enable growth of plants under artificial conditions that can prevent at least some species from becoming extinct.
