Future Prognosis

Although we have made significant progress in our understanding of the role of combined modality therapy, much remains to be accomplished. Current and future research may provide exciting opportunities to improve response and survival for patients with tumors previously associated with a dismal prognosis. 

One of the most promising future indications of p F]-FDG-PET imaging in the clinical routine will be the evaluation of therapy response, tumor control and prediction of prognosis. Weber et al. [2] showed that [ F]-FDG-PET provides... 

Firstly air traffic and the emission of pollutants from air traffic have increased rapidly over the last two to three decades, and the prognosis for future emissions indicate continued rapid increases over several decades to come. What is particular significant is that the increase is expected to be much larger than the general emission of pollutants. This means that we should expect the impact of aircraft emissions on the environment to become more important in the future than it is today. An obvious consequence of this is that good prognosis of future aircraft emissions are essential for performing reliable future estimates of aircraft emissions. 

In malignancy, glandular epithelia constitute the main kallikrein immunoex-pression sites, and staining of their secretions indicating that these proteases are secreted. Similar to the IE pattern in normal glandular tissues, all hKs are expressed in adenocarcinomas. In the future, it is clearly worthwhile to study the relation of the IE of all hKs with prognosis of several malignancies and to correlate these results with those obtained by other methods. 

In the following we consider the nature of LIFS in more detail. The theoretical foundations of laser excitation and fluorescence are outlined and such issues as detectability and dynamic range are discussed. Finally the status of LIFS is summarized and a prognosis for future development given. 

It is difficult to venture a prognosis for the future development of ammonia production technology. As about 85% of the ammonia consumption goes into the manufacture of fertilizers, it is obvious that the future of the ammonia industry is very closely bound up with future fertilizer needs and the pattern of the world supply. 

Autoimmune hepatitis may be classified into three (sometimes four) types according to the different antibody specificities in conjunction with the seromarkers of viral hepatitis. Further differentiation has also been made into subtypes (la, lb and 2a, 2b), although this remains controversial. In the future, it may well be possible to derive therapeutic indications or prognostic indices from these subtypes at the moment, they offer no guidance in this respect. It is, however, remarkable that ANA, SMA and LKM 1 are not primarily detectable in 20% of patients with AIH, whereas other antibodies, such as LP/SLA and ASGPR antibodies, can often be identified.
