Free-flowing particles

At present, form-fill-seal is limited to products having reasonably free-flowing particles with low dust concentrations. Because heat seal-... [Pg.1966]

For free-flowing particles that do not segregate, use mixers where outside shell moves (cone, double cone, zigzag). For pastes, plastics, and powders that tend to segregate, use mixers with outside shell fixed (ribbon, edge mill, double arm, Banbury, extruder). [Pg.1429]

Particle surface adhesiveness is more important for particles intended for inhalation application. While it is important to produce free-flowing particles for both types of particles to ensure easy storage and processing of the particles, the surface adhesiveness of the particles will significantly affect the aerolization behavior in inhalers. When a drug formulation blend is contained in an inhaler, the drug particle and the excipients are normally in contact in a bed form. [Pg.986]

For free flowing particles that do not segregate, use mixers where the outside shell moves (cone, double cone, zig-zag). [Pg.290]

A technique for the preparation of Eudragit RL-100 acrylic resin microcapsules was developed, which was based on the principle of solvent evaporation. Diclofenac sodium was used as a model drug for encapsulation. A solution of drug and Eudragit dissolved in acetone-isopropyl alcohol was sprayed in liquid paraffin. The microcapsules obtained were unifonu and free flowing particles. The release rate was more sustained by increasing the polymer coneentration. The experimental procedure provided a rapid and eonvenient method for the preparation of Eudragit microcapsules. 8 refs. [Pg.73]

Numerous research problems of practical and industrial importance and of theoretical and academic interest await solution in the preparation, characterization and application of ordered mixtures and composition-stable mixtures. Scant attention is paid here to these subjects because they are regarded as being outside the scope of bulk-solids mixing in the conventional sense, which usually is concerned with mixing and blending of free-flowing particles and powder in relatively large quantities. [Pg.656]

Drug is first dispersed in an aqueous acidic solution of chitosan. The next step is the addition of a suitable crossUnking agent. This solution is then atomized in a stream of hot air. This leads to the formation of small droplets from which solvent evaporates, leading to the formation of free flowing particles [72],... [Pg.36]

In the Riillips slurry phase process (ref. 4) a hydrocarbon diluent, ethylene, catalyst, and comonomer if required, eu e charged continuously to circulating loop reactors eperating at about 40 atm. The crystalline pxslyethylene forms as discrete, free flowing particles in the presence of the diluent vp to a critical eperating tenperature, vhich depiends mainly on the... [Pg.221]
