Fragrance encapsulation

Development of new encapsulation methods is time- and effort-consuming, requiring a multidisciplinary approach. In contrast with foods, materials used for fragrance encapsulation are not subject to the extensive legislation that applies to food approval. This makes the use of new materials as matrix materials easier. Some new developments with potential for the near future are discussed next. [Pg.447]

The market has also migrated towards consumer-friendly products that reduce fabric wrinkling and dramatically cut/eliminate ironing time [180,182,194,195], Polymers have also been employed to build rheology (or stmcture) in various liquid formulations, with the objective of improved product aesthetics (through the suspension of actives or visual cues) [196], Fragrance encapsulation and additives for masking malodors have also become topics of much interest [197,198],... [Pg.289]

Solid rinse additives are invariably encountered in the form of tumble drier sheets. The major problem here is one of avoiding premature firagrance loss and this is maybe one instance where some form of heat-triggered fragrance encapsulation is warranted this has been extensively patented by Procter and Gamble (Sec. II.D). Solid or powder rinse conditioners, although they are frequently a topic for the patent literature, have never been a real commercial success because of rather poor cold-water dispersability characteristics. Perfume problems would probably be primarily associated with fatty base odor coverage. [Pg.715]
