DifTerential Pulse Polarography. The most important pulse method is differential pulse polarography (DPP). In this technique a stepped voltage rise (modern staircase technique) is used and a rectangular voltage pulse with con.stant amplitude A p of 10-100 mV is applied to each mercury drop at the end of its drop time the pulse duration fp is 40 - 60 ms. [Pg.794]

Triethylamine hydrochloride is separated by filtration and the filter cake is washed with 100 cc of anhydrous ethyl alcohol. The alcohol and the excess of triethylamine is distilled off in a vacuum of a water pump. The residue represents a light-yellowish brown viscous oil which is extracted 3 times with 500 cc of anhydrous benzene each time with stirring at 40° to 60°C. The benzene is distilled off on a water bath at 60°C. Thus, an oil is obtained which solidifies to a hard mass after some hours. This mass is crushed and dried over PjOs in an exsiccator. Figure 6 shows the B2PLYP-D/aug-cc-pVTZ optimized stmcture IV for both FP and TP. For both compounds, the dipole moment for stmcture IV is significantly lower than that of the other stmctures with a value of 1.40 D compared to a range of 2.90-3.60 D for the fluoro case. With trifluoromethylpiperidine, the dipole moment of stmcture IV is 1.76 D and those for the other stmctures range from 3.06 to 3.44 D.
