Zinc(II) and Co(II) are the only cations found to reactivate apophos-phatase to any appreciable extent (120). The Co(II) enzyme follows the same formal mechanism as the native enzyme, but has a lower specific activity (113, 121). Reinforcing with formal mechanisms. Management needs to ensure that roles and relationships, basic management and business processes, reward and recognition systems, and information systems all support and reinforce the requisite mindsets and behaviors. It is close to impossible to convince employees that more risk taking will be a desired behavior in the future, if just one person who then takes a risk and fails is demoted.

In an idealized situation in which the five ligands are equivalent and in which there is no intermolecular exchange of angular momentum, the actual TR-phenomenon that effects the isomerization (1 4) (2 5) -> (1 2) of Fig. 5 corresponds to the clockwise 36° rotation of the pair vs. the counterclockwise 24° rotation of the trio with conservation of internal angular momentum. The conservation of intramolecular angular momentum is not a necessary condition for TR, but it should be pointed out that only TR and BPR, among all the formal mechanisms discussed above, possess this capability. In general, to describe the actual TR in the isomerization (1 4) (2 5) - (1 2) of Fig. 5 all that needs to be said is that there is a clockwise overall 60° internal rotation of the pair relative to the trio. 

Finally, as already mentioned, metallocene catalysts can polymerize a variety of olefins. In certain cases the structural features of the monomer lead to the formation of novel polymers. Two such examples are shown by reactions 6.6 and 6.7. It is clear that the polymerization processes involve considerable rearrangements of the bonds. Reactions 6.8 and 6.9 show the formal mechanisms of such rearrangements for 1,5-hexadiene and methylenecyclobutane, respectively. 

The latter undergoes insertion of ethylene into the rhodium-carbon cr bond to give 7.36. The formal mechanism for the formation of 7.36 is shown by reaction 7.10. Complex 7.36 undergoes /3-elimination to generate 7.37, which liberates 1,4-hexadiene and completes the catalytic cycle.
