FlyBase allele reports

SCOPE OF FLYBASE DATA TYPES WHAT YOU WILL FIND WHEN YOU GET THERE, 516 Gene and Allele Reports, 516... [Pg.508]

In addition to alleles in the traditional sense, FlyBase names and curates further classes of alleles so that phenotypic/expression pattern data can be captured for in vitro construct alleles of both traditional and nontraditional genes, including alleles of reporter (e.g., lacZ), effector (e.g., FLPl), and toxin (e.g., DT-A) genes. [Pg.517]

The Stocks section of FlyBase includes subdirectories for stock lists from both public and private collections of Drosophila, order forms, quick and complex search facilities, and help files. Stock reports include a stock number, genotype, and comments. Alleles, aberrations, balancers, and transposon insertions appearing in stock reports are reciprocally hyperlinked to the full report for that item in the corresponding data section. If an item appearing in FlyBase is not available from one of the public stock centers, users can request a stock from the authors of a recent article. [Pg.519]

A Reference report can be accessed using the Reference search tool or via a link from another object such as an allele or transposon. Reference reports include abstracts where available from PubMed and links to the article s full text where PubMed offers these. Reference reports include a tabular listing of genetic data recorded by FlyBase from that paper. References can be fetched in several formats including Refer/Endnote. [Pg.521]
