Elatites, Bloodstone in the rough state in its finished condition it is called Miles. It is useful for burns, and more so for all species of red eruptions. [Pg.157]

Broad spectrum antimicrobial against G+ve and G-ve bacteria and fungi-tested -The extent of improvement in the imparted properties (antimicrobial/durable press] was determined by t q)e and concentration of cross-linker, chitosan molecular weight and cone. As well as finishing condition. [Pg.231]

TiAlN, or similar coatings. In addition to being more wear resistant, such coatings minimize the friction between tool and hole surface as well as between tool and chips. Under finishing conditions with solid tungsten carbide drills, it is possible to achieve diameter qualities in the range of IT 7-IT 9 and a surface roughness of Rz = 2-4 pm in special cases, = 1 pm. [Pg.624]

An acoustic microscopy study has been designed to evaluate the effect of different surface finish conditions on the ability of acoustic microscopy to detect surface and near-surface defects. Test bars have been indented and heat-treated in accordance with the test plan (Table 3). Documentation of the test bar surface conditions has been completed and the bars have been sent to GE NDE Systems and Services for inspection. [Pg.410]

Chains with welded links in alloy steel are manufactured in accordance with British Standards (BS) covering the designation of size, material used and its heat treatment and dimensions, e.g. material diameter, welds and dimensions of links. The welds should show no fissures, notches or similar faults and the finished condition should be clean and free from any coating other than rust preventative. [Pg.302]

Every material has frictional (tribologic) properties. Some are naturally lubricating, such as Sn-Pb alloys, and others are notably nonshppery, such as tin or copper. Copper is one of the least slippery of the surface finishes and typically requires more pressing force than Sn-Pb or gold finishes for a comparably sized hole. Tin s crystalline structure is also rather resistant to sliding. In some cases, extra attention to PTH finished hole size (FHS) is required. The PWB vendor should be alerted to the fact that holes are being placed in the board for press-fit, so FHS and surface finish conditions are appropriate for the press-fit component. In some cases, for some materials such as copper, the holes could be specified for the upper end of its FHS as expressed by the connector vendor to aid in insertion. FHS should be just that the hole size after surface finish is applied. [Pg.1150]

The influence of the finishing conditions on the size of the primary particles is obvious (Figure 19-3). Paliotol Yellow L 0960 HD being recrystallized at lower temperatures has smaller and less uniform particles than Paliotol Yellow L 0962 HD, which is finished at higher temperatures. The plastic grade K 0961 HD is similar to L 0960 HD in primary particle size, but differs in size of the agglomerates because of its different final milling process. [Pg.312]

The while loop of the algorithm is executed until either all drops find the same solution (allDropsFollowTheSamePathO), that is, all drops traverse the same sequence of nodes, or another alternative finishing condition is satisfied (otherEndingConditionO). This condition may be used, for example, for limiting the number of iterations or the execution time. Another choice is to finish the loop if the best solution found so far is not surpassed during the last n iterations. [Pg.167]

The gauze finishes employed in this study were prepared to assess the effect of both sterilization and variation of the sodium periodate finishing conditions on the activity of dialdehyde cotton gauze in reducing elastase activity. The reaction for... [Pg.85]

Stability because of the large proportion of the undercoordinated atoms. Nanovoids increase the proportion of undercoordinated atoms at the negatively curved pore surfaces, whereas the nanodots or rods provide such undercoordinated atoms in the positively curved particle surfaces. These two kinds of nanostructures differ from one another mainly in the exact proportion of the lower coordinated atoms and the slight difference in the coordination environment, given the same surface chemical finishing conditions. For the negatively curves pores, the effective CN follows the same relation but the K <0, z — 4(1—0.75/ 0-... [Pg.612]

Figure 8 shows the maximum load values for SOIC device leads pulled from assemblies made with each Pb-free solder as a function of circuit board surface finish. Considering all board surface finish conditions and accounting for the experimental variability of the data, it was concluded that the performance of all solders is nearly equivalent and, with the exception of Sn58Bi, the differences observed are not statistically significant. Compared with all other down-selected solders, the maximum load values with Sn-58Bi are the lowest for imidazole, Ni/Au, Ni/ Pd, and Pd, and second lowest for Sn. [Pg.678]
