BASF remained a top performer in the third synthetic organic chemical path, that of film and photography—a product line that always differentiated it from the other two German rivals. [Pg.241]

The research was carried through observational methods (total of ten situated observation using film and photography records) and interactional (total of eight conversational action and provoked and spontaneous actions) as well as documental analysis. The collected information through conversational actions along with the collective analysis were transcribed through the matrix of commentary inclusion (Vidal 2012). The analysis of the activity has enabled to obtain data that was submitted to constant restitutions and validations. [Pg.212]

A variety of appHcations, including photography, employ alkan olamines for pH control. Reports have described formulations including mon oeth an olamine and triethanolamine in films and processing (221—224). [Pg.11]

Staining, mounting under a coverslip, viewing and photography are superior to that obtained with stripping film... [Pg.60]

Potassium percarbonate is used in photography under the name Antihypo for removing the last traces of thiosulfate from film and paper. It is a strong oxidizing agent in certain chemical analysis and in microscopic identification of tubercle bacilli. [Pg.766]

After exposure to an X-ray film or photography in the dark room, the blot can be rinsed with TBS and used for a development with a chromogenic substrate. [Pg.74]

The Eastman Kodak Company was founded in the late 1800s and was the first company to offer easy-to-use photography services to the general public. Explore this sitefor some of this history, and be sure to check out the link to About Film and Imaging to read about the chemistry and engineering required for the manufacture of photographic film. [Pg.387]

Photography processed photographic colour films and transmittance, solar direct, total solar energy transmittance and ultraviolet transmittance, and related glazing factors. ISO 10977 1993(E). Geneve, Switzerland International Organization for Standardization. [Pg.78]

International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Photography—Processed Photographic Colour Films and Paper Prints— Methods for Measuring Image Stability. ISO 10977 1993, Geneve, Switzerland 1993. [Pg.200]

Both allergic and irritant mechanisms have been proposed as explanations for eye symptoms. More rapid tear-film break-up time, a measure of tear film instability, is associated with increased levels of symptoms. Fat-foam thickness measurement and photography for documentation of ocular erythema have also been used. Some authors attribute eye symptoms at least in part to increased individual susceptibility based on those factors. In addition, office workers with ocular symptoms have been demonstrated to blink less frequently when working at video display terminals. Conjunctival staining with fluorescent dyes is a common clinical test for conjunctivitis sicca. [Pg.2401]

Use Disinfectant, cleanser and sterilizer, cosmetics (deodorants, dandruff removers, emulsion stabilizers), fungicides, mildew control, to increase affinity of dyes for film in photography, coating of pigment particles to improve dispersibility, to increase adhesion of road dressings and paints, antistatic additive, biocide. [Pg.1067]

The Polaroid Land rapid-process system of photography has been adapted to some kinds of diffraction equipment. The Polaroid film is backed by an intensifying screen (Sec. 5-2) which converts x-rays to visible light that can darken the film. X-ray exposures are about one tenth of those required by x-ray film, and finished prints are available about ten seconds after the x-ray exposure. [Pg.29]
