Figures credit lines

Include the credit line on the first page where copyrighted text appears and under each copyrighted table or figure. [Pg.86]

If you adapt or use only part of a figure or table, permission is still needed. The credit line for adapted material is similar to the credit lines in Box 15-7 except reprinted is replaced with adapted . [Pg.366]

Directions Clearly show the methods used and steps involved in arriving at your answers. It is to your advantage to do this, because you may earn partial credit if you do, and you will receive little or no credit if you do not. Attention should be paid to significant figures. Be sure to write all your answers to the questions on the lined pages following each question the booklet. The Section II score weighting for this question is 20%. [Pg.366]

Figure 7. NADH autofluorescence in a human colon carcinoma cell line (HCT116). Ultra-violet excitation at 363 nm was used and the emitted fluorescence greater than 440 nm was collected. Scale bar is 10 microns. Credit Giselle M. Knudsen, Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. Figure 7. FIGURE 5.17 Cellulose diffraction patterns. Top left synchrotron radiation x-ray diffraction pattern for cotton fiber bundle. The fiber was vertical and the white circle and line correspond to a shadow from the main beam catcher and its support. (Credit to Zakhia Ford.) Top right electron diffraction pattern of fragments of cotton secondary wall. The much shorter arcs in the top right figure are due to the good alignment and small number of crystallites in the electron beam. (Credit to Richard J. Schmidt.) Bottom a synthesized powder pattern for cellulose, based on the unit cell dimensions and crystalline coordinates of Nishiyama et al. [209]. (Credit to Zakhia Ford.) Also shown are the hkl values for the Miller indices. The 2-theta values are for molybdenum radiation instead of the more commonly used copper radiation. [Pg.52]

Couper s formulation is of espedai importance in that it contains the first depiction of a chemical bond by means of a straight line connecting two bonded atoms. It is thus to Couper that the credit goes for the first use of the graphical edge to represent a chemical bond [44] other instances of his use of this device are reproduced in Figure 8. [Pg.12]

This credit-card-sized digital camera (Figure 1.26) uses multilayer LTCC materials to reduce the size of the printed wiring board by 50%. The 10-layer circuit used fine-line silver conductors and integrated thick-film resistors having one half the volume of the equivalent chip resistor volume to achieve this significant reduction in size, as well as cost savings. [Pg.49]

For the first set of the budgeting model, it is assumed no marketable securities invested at the beginning of the period, an initial cash equal to the minimum cash (20000 u.), an open line of credit at annual interest of 10% and a set of marketable securities at 5% annual interest. In the 12-months horizon it is assumed that cash is withdrawn for dividend emission at 4, 8 and 12 period (month). With this, it is solved the LP problem proposed and results give Figure 2, where overall marketable securities and cash borrowed during the first 3 months are shown. Cash withdrawn in the year is 185.588 u. [Pg.363]
