Fiber tilt angle

If the procedure wf premap is called with a filled save-set, the interactive part is skipped, and the geometry of the 4 chps is taken from the save-set. For each clip, the position of the spot maximum is computed. Prom these positions, the fiber tilt angle (3 is computed, and the image is centered and ahgued. Finally, the mapping into reciprocal space is accomplished by the routine wf map. The function call... [Pg.568]

The value of the angle of tilting of the texture can be determined from the analysis of x-ray fiber diagrams. As Urbanczyk noted [18], the position of layer reflexes oil and ill or the position of equatorial reflexes 010 and 100 can be analyzed. In the first case, the tilting angle of the texture (v ) can be determined from the equation ... [Pg.845]

The solution to access the invisible areas is readily copied from texture analysis tilt the sample by y and receive 1 data point on the meridian that corresponds to S3 = (2/A) sin y/. The result of the mapping is shown in Fig. 2.7. Thus by recording a series of images taken at different tilt angles of the fiber the blind area can be covered to a sufficient extent. Finally, the remnant blind spots may be covered by means of... [Pg.46]

When the fibers are oriented perpendicular to or placed under a small angle to the applied load direction, the following deformation processes are possible see Fig. 7.3. If the interfacial adhesion is poor, microvoid formation can occur at the fiber interface see case (a) in Fig. 7.3. Fibers tilted at a certain angle can separate from the matrix see case (b) in Fig. 7.3. If the interfacial is good, the crack propagates along the interface with the fibers or inside the matrix material with the result of a smooth fracture surface see case (c) in Fig. 7.3 [1]. [Pg.465]

Figure 19. Experimental arrangement for observation of stimulated emission in a a-8T single crystal. All molecules are aligned parallel to each other and make a 24° tilt angle with the (b,c) plane of the crystal. Detection is performed through an optical fiber positioned close to the upper edge of the crystal at an angle of 30°. From ref. [114]. Figure 19. A two-axis tip-tilt mirror was designed and fabricated in the PolyMUMPS process as a student design project [12]. Here the mirror was not lifted out of plane as in the lambda router switch, so the maximum tilt angle was determined by the radius of the mirror, 100 pm, set by the dimensions of the optical fiber core that the switch was designed for, and the maximum sacrificial gap of 2.75 pm obtained... [Pg.84]

The parallelization of crystallites, occurring as a result of fiber drawing, which consists in assuming by crystallite axes-positions more or less mutually parallel, leads to the development of texture within the fiber. In the case of PET fibers, this is a specific texture, different from that of other kinds of chemical fibers. It is called axial-tilted texture. The occurrence of such a texture is proved by the displacement of x-ray reflexes of paratropic lattice planes in relation to the equator of the texture dif-fractogram and by the deviation from the rectilinear arrangement of oblique diffraction planes. With the preservation of the principle of rotational symmetry, the inclination of all the crystallites axes in relation to the fiber axis is a characteristic of such a type of texture. The angle formed by the axes of particular crystallites (the translation direction of space lattice [c]) and the... [Pg.845]
