Covalent coupling of hog sulphated gastric mucin glycopeptides to agarose has provided a universal affinity chromatographic material for purification of lectins and their ferritin conjugates.

Evidence for involvement of cutinase in fungal penetration To determine whether fungal pathogens secrete cutinase during the penetration into their hosts, ferritin conjugated antibodies prepared against cutinase and electron microscopy were used. By this method, it was shown that F. solani pisi secreted cutinase during penetration into pea hypocotyl wTth intact cuticular barrier (8). This infection could be completely prevented by specific inhibition of cutinase either with chemicals or antibodies (9).
