Extended feature

The CORBA implementation Orbix from IONA Technologies [750] was used in the project. Yet, before implementing all project software on top of Orbix, it was examined with regard to performance in data transmission [447]. Orbix is a fairly efficient implementation. It implements large parts of the CORBA specifications, and has a very broad installation base in companies. Another important criterion was Orbix provision of extended features that support object and communication management. Although it had a number of deficiencies at the time of decision making, it was clear that it was rapidly developed further [421]. [Pg.404]

Today wadless thermoplastic closures are used on glass, metal and plastic containers. The seal area may be achieved on the top, internal or external sides of the sealing surface of the container. The internal method of achieving a seal, known as a bore seal, is usually made with a tapered skirt or extending feature in the cap. When the top surface makes a seal this may be matched with a special flexible feature in the cap such as a crab s claw, a raised bead or a flat surface. The container sealing... [Pg.322]

But, in addition to localized satellite peaks, the second-order autoionization processes may also form the extended features of the secondary electron spectrum,... [Pg.214]

Once the tip is aligned to a location on the surface where writing is to be performed, the tip is brought into contact with the surface and allowed to dwell in one spot (i.e., to deposit a spot) or is scaimed over the surface to make extended features. The rate at which material is transferred to the surface and the shape and size of the deposited material region is affected by a number of factors including ... [Pg.604]

A feature diagram as well as an extended feature diagram has an equivalent representation as a set of logical formulas (see Sect. 17.3.2.1). The translation of an extended feature tree results in a propositional logic with an additional theory. For this kind of logic there exist three approaches of a reasoning procedure in basic research modular [28-30], hierarchical [31,32] and integrated approaches [33, 34]. [Pg.503]

An extended feature model as depicted in Fig. 17.5 defines a product model and a cost model. In addition to the objective function, these methods allow the formulation of additional bounds. [Pg.505]
