Industrial experimentation

Batch reactors often are used to develop continuous processes because of their suitabiUty and convenient use in laboratory experimentation. Industrial practice generally favors processing continuously rather than in single batches, because overall investment and operating costs usually are less. Data obtained in batch reactors, except for very rapid reactions, can be well defined and used to predict performance of larger scale, continuous-flow reactors. Almost all batch reactors are well stirred thus, ideally, compositions are uniform throughout and residence times of all contained reactants are constant. 

As a result of this work the experimental industrial production technologies for hydrocarbon catalytic pyrolysis were developed. 

The results of experimental research became the base for engineering recommendations for experimental industrial equipment, which is being produced at the moment. The expected efficiency of the equipment unit is 2000 kg/year with one-shift working mode. 

The UF particleboard was a commercial low emission product made with a resin having an F/U ratio below 1.2. The PF board was an experimental, industrial product, and the furnish was standard industrial Southern pine material. 

Experiment was carried out on assembly of experimental-industrial shop of research center of OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim". 

Novel process on the base of compact tubular reactors is principally fitted for production of bromobutyl rubber and also others chlorinated elastomers. Process is accepted at OAO "Nizhne-kamskneftekhim". In 2001-2002 pilot plant worked at which chlorobutyl rubber of required quality was received without any problems. Technical schedule was made. At present experimental-industrial plant is projected. 

It was decided to use some of FAs for the forth year of operation for the purpose of higher burnup, better fuel utilization, flexibility of core layout solutions that allows to vary the duration of the fuel cycles. Up to 1997 significant experience of the so-called experimental-industrial FAs operation in 4 annual fuel cycles was gained. It allowed the chief designer of the reactor and FAs to change design limits for the FAs ... 

Parameter estimation was performed using a simplex-based method (Htmmelblau et al., 2002) focusing on niinirnizing the classical least square objective function based on the difference between experimental and predicted CO conversion values. The experimental industrial data set was divided into two group , the first for pjarameter estimation and the second for model validation.
