Evaporation during mixed solvent

Predicted Compositions during Mixed Solvent Evaporation from Resin Solutions Using the Analytical Solutions of Groups Method... [Pg.19]

The plastic binder is added as a solution in acetone. Most of the solvent evaporates during mixing and granulation. This is not a standardized formula but similar "castable mixtures have been reported by others. Unsaturated polyester with added styrene has also been tried for this purpose. [Pg.374]

Drying. A considerable amount of volatile solvent is removed by evaporation during the latter stages of mixing and by flashing from the strands at the extrusion and cutting steps. The remainder must be removed in the drying operation. [Pg.17]

The solvents and water are mixed at BOF to 100F. The Aerosol OT-75% Surfactant is added slowly with continued mixing. After the Aerosol OT has dissolved, all solutions will remain clear and liquid at temperatures as low as 50F. No scumming of the surface will occur because of evaporation during a normal run of cloth through the bath. The solutions that are allowed to stand should be covered to prevent loss of solvent. [Pg.50]

FIGURE 1.1. Schematic representation of a spin-coating experiment. Initially, the two polymers and the solvent are mixed. As the solvent evaporates during film formation, phase separation sets in resulting in a characteristic phase morphology in the final film (from [7]). [Pg.3]

Petroleum residue was dissolved in toluene in order to well mix it with the bagasse fibres. The mixture obtained was then carefully shaken and exposed to evaporation during 12 h at room temperature in order to remove the solvent. Residual toluene was eliminated by heating the sample at a temperature of 106°C for 10 h. [Pg.1350]

Retention gap techniques with on-column interfaces are used to analyze those analytes that are poorly retained during full concurrent eluent evaporation [98-102,105]. The eluent fraction is pushed by the liquid chromatography pump into the thermostatted retention gap where it is mixed with carrier gas and evaporated at a temperature below the pressure corrected eluent boiling point. A layer of condensed solvent (flooded zone) is formed in front of the evaporation site that acts as a temporary retaining liquid phase. Partial concurrent eluent evaporation during transfer allows the use of shorter retention gaps and an increase in the eluent volume that can be transferred. A 10 m x 0.53 mm... [Pg.198]

Despite repeated attempts, the data for the mixed solvents are not as precise as should be expected. See, for example, the data for (3n/902)03 shown in Figure 2. Representative data of An versus C2 are given in Figure 3. Since comparable measurements on C(2.43)a were more readily completed, we are at a loss for a definitive explanation for the difficulty experienced with solutions of C(3.00)A in mixed solvents. Possible explanations include the effects of solvent evaporation. Incomplete dissolution of the polymer or (partial) absorption of the polymer on vessel walls during preparation and/or An measurement, in the only direct comparison with published data, we find (9 /902) =... [Pg.67]
