Euonymus bungeanus

Although the use of Euonymus bungeanus Max. as a natural insecticide has not been reported, a preliminary insecticidal test [136] indicated that sesquiterpene polyol esters 15 and 16, isolated from the seed oil of this species, exhibited an insect antifeedant effect against P. rapae with antifeedant rates (%) of 42 and 67, respectively at a concentration of 200 ppm, and compounds 16 and 17 exhibited an insecticidal effect against O. furnacolis with values of corrected death rates (%) of 70 and 50, respectively at 300 ppm. Recently, [137] a new sesquiterpene (18) from Euonymus fortunei with an antifeedant efect of 58.4% against P. rapae at 1000 ppm. Fig. (7), was reported. [Pg.668]
