Ethylcellulose efficiency

Tarvainen et al. (2002) studied the film-forming ability of starch acetate (DS 2.8) and the effect of commotfly used plasticizers on the physical properties of starch acetate films. The properties were compared with ethylcellulose films. Mechanical studies, water vapor and drug permeability tests, and thermal analysis by differential scarming calorimetry (DSC) were used to characterize the film-forming ability of starch acetate and efficiency of tested plasticizers. Starch acetate films were foimd to be tougher and stronger than ethylcellulose films at the same plasticizer concentration. Also, in most cases, the water vapor permeability of starch acetate... [Pg.452]

Droplets were collected on 1-inch ethylcellulose strips, placed laterally across the wind tunnel floor at various distances downwind, and on 11-mm. glass rods located 40 inches downwind from the spray nozzle. The effective fall distance for droplets impinging on the wind tunnel floor was 2 feet. Droplet sizes that reach the glass rods will not all impact efficiently, and the efficiency varies with droplet diameter (2, 4). Nonetheless, the size droplet reaching a given glass rod was approximately... [Pg.144]

Resin Solubilizers. In general, water-soluble resins are amine salts of acidic polymers. Water-soluble coatings formulated with AMP-95 and DMAMP-80 exhibit superior performance (15,16) (see WATER-soLUBm polymers). AMP-95, used in conjunction with associative thickeners (17) or hydroxy-ethylcellulose, provides for the most efficient utilization of such thickeners. It also is the neutralizer of choice for use with hair spray resins. [Pg.19]

The research indicates a good compatibihty in the ethylcellulose/cellulose acetate system, whereas the thermal stabihty of mixtiu-es is improved compared to that of pure ethyl cellulose [142], Thus, this blend met the best equilibrium conditions at the membrane-solution interface of membrane separation in liquid chromatography experiments. In this context, knowledge on the interaction force between solute and interface of the membrane is necessary. It is observed that the interfacial adsorption properties and hydrophilidty of ethylcellulose are improved when blending the solution with cellulose acetate, and also that the alloys are superior to ethylcellulose in the separation efficiency for non-dissociable polar organic solutes. The obtained results are useful especially for orientational membrane fabrication. [Pg.379]
