There are several FDA-approved estradiol patches currently on the market. These patches are three- to four-day patches used to treat symptoms associated with menopause. Estraderm is the only membrane-moderated estradiol system that is on the market. Estraderm is available in two sizes 0.05 and 0.1-mg/day patches. Vivelle, Vivelle Dots, Alora, and Climara are examples of commercially available estradiol patches that utilize adhesive matrix patch design. [Pg.801]
