Establish a Process Owner

As you move into implementation, one member of each steering committee should be appointed as the local process owner, or coordinator, for your new safety process. This person may be a staff member, supervisor, or hourly employee who will serve as the employee safety coordinator. If the position is assigned to an hourly employee, you may want to rotate it annually. [Pg.130]

In addition to the behavioral safety coordinator, you will often want to identify an employee safety coordinator in each natural work team. This employee should serve to champion the process and be the point of contact for the steering committee in areas that do not have steering committee representation. [Pg.130]

The steering committee has the primary responsibility for implementing the design team s plans (see Table 14.2). [Pg.130]

4 Develop plans for individual recognition and group celebrations. [Pg.130]
