Engineering logic

An important product of the analysis is the framework of engineering logic generated in constructing the models. The numerical estimates of frequencies need only be sufficiently accurate to --------risk-significant plant features. 

Thus, PSA techniques serve as a valuable adjunct to the methods currently used in decision making by both industry and government. Once again, it seems that eukaryotes invented an extremely expensive mechanism for a purpose that could have been achieved much more simply, as bacteria clearly prove. Logically consistent fuels cells support a very silent energy conversion of chemical energy into electrical energy. This potential of silent operation is still used commercially in submarines. 

This representation is easily understandable by those knowledgeable about the process technology and is a convenient mechanism for conveying the process requirements to the control engineers responsible for implementing the batch logic. 

The initial step in selection could logically be to make an estimate of the steam flow at various steam pressures by using Fig. 29-17 for a rough estimate of efficiency. Unfortunately, there are no rigid standards for steam pressure and temperature as electrical-voltage steps are fixed, and many engineers pick a pressure and a temperature...

The team should have a wide range of knowledge and experience. If a contractor designs the plant, then the HAZOP team should include people from both tlie contractor and client organizations. On a computer-controlled batch plant, the software engineer should be a member of the HAZOP team, which should include at least one other person who understands the computer logic.
