Design changes may be needed to obtain the maximum benefit from improved performance. The cost of such changes must be taken into account when assessing the value of catalyst improvement.

These reviews should fully identify the risks (both consequences and probabilities) and address measures to prevent or mitigate their effects. 

Thus, it is highly desirable that key buyers and sales channels have already been locked up by the time of product launch. Inevitably, customers, process engineers, financial officers, and other stakeholders request various design changes. Proper change control is essential to avoid unacceptable delays and cost overruns.
