Emptying of Containers

The emptying of containers can present many hazards, depending on the material being handled, the type of equipment used to empty the containers, and the characteristics of the system into which the material is transferred. Materials hazards are the subject of Section 2.2, and later sections of the present chapter deal with specific equipment. The checklist below should also be reviewed in preparation for handling and empt5dng containers. [Pg.99]

Provide systems to ensure that the correct material is being unloaded. Be aware of the proper method for moving containers to and from skids. Be aweire of pinching hazards and the possibility of back injury. [Pg.99]
