Emergency response program drills

The management program should require that emergency response and control plans are in place and are ready for immediate implementation. These plans should be validated by drills carried out to a schedule defined by the management program. The drills should address the readiness of personnel and their interaction with equipment. [Pg.189]

Facility and equipment maintenance should be provided so that hazardous breakdown is prevented. Plan and prepare for emergencies and conduct training and drills as needed so that the response of all parties to emergencies becomes second nature. Establish a medical program that includes first aid available on-site, with physician and emergency medical care nearby, to minimize harm if any injury or illness does occur. [Pg.25]

Have evacuation routes clearly marked on emergency maps. Employees must follow these routes during practice drills. Also, the program must provide alternative routes to be taken if the primary routes are not accessible. Assign to specific employees the responsibility of taking a head count once everyone has assembled at a preplanned area away from the building. [Pg.294]
