Emergency protocol

Develop clear protocols and chains-of-command for reporting and responding to threats along with relevant emergency, law enforcement, environmental, and public health officials, consumers, and the media. Practice the emergency protocols regularly. 

Prior to the commencement of any production, all state and local regulations must be adhered to, as the operations may be hazardous from both a mechanical and chemical aspect. Safety and emergency protocols must be drawn up and checked out. All safety equipment must be thoroughly checked before commencement of any work. 

XML is an emerging protocol of note. Applied for exchange of structured information, it is increasingly used in e-commerce applications. 

These team members are essential for monitoring vital signs during extraction. They must be confident with the procedure, materials, and potential complications in order to activate emergency protocols. 

With any intercurrent illness, individuals with MSUD are at risk for metabolic decompensation. During these episodes, development of cerebral edema can be fatal. Families and individuals with MSUD should know the signs of metabolic decompensation and be provided with an emergency protocol that includes both directions for the family and for emergency personnel who may become involved in their care. Information for contacting the on-call metabolic physician must be included in any protocol. 

As with any pregnancy, persistent nausea and vomiting and intercurrent illness can occur. For women with intoxication disorders, these catabolic events need to be aggressively addressed to prevent increasing concentrations of amino acids and associated toxic metabolites. Antiemetics can be prescribed. For women who have a difficult time taking medical food, a gastrostomy tube may need to be considered [24]. A plan for any needed admissions should be established ahead of time and emergency protocols updated [25].

The Emergency Protocol is currently under review to bring it in line with modern international legal instruments on preparedness and response, as well as to include the prevention of pollution from ships.
